A food chopper is a welcome addition to any kitchen. Not only do they take the drudgery out of preparing food but they also cut down the amount of time you need to spend in the kitchen. Meaning you can spend more time refining your recipes, or doing something completely different altogether.

Our favourite food chopper is this Kenwood CH180 Mini Chopper. It’s not big enough to chop food for a large family meal, and is clearly inadequate if you’re thinking about throwing a lavish dinner party. But if you want an affordable food chopper which is quick, easy to use and easy to clean in the dishwasher then this is the gadget for you.

A Retro Toy For Big Boys

Creative Zen Mp3 Players

If the general public and mass media were to be believed there is only MP3 Player on the High Street worthy of your consideration. Poppycock we say, for ages now the Creative Zen MP3 Players family have been offering a brilliant, feature rich alternative to the ubiquitous Ipod.Admittedly they’ve struggled to market their range with the same impact and efficiency as Apple, but many would argue that from a technical point of view the Creative Zen MP3 Players are more technically rich than their apple counterparts and offer a much better audio experience – thanks especially to the new X-Fi2 technology which restores MP3 to it’s finest form.

With the launch of the new Ipad seeming quite underwhelming, and with the new Creative Zen X-Fi2 just being launched this could be the perfect opportunity for Creative to steal march on their better established rivals.

We think they should be targetting the wider variety of formats and less stringent policies on copying to gain some traction with the MP3 obsessed generation.

One of our favourite brands for producing delicious modcons is Sony. Though other rivals have left them in the shade where new TVs are concerned the arrival of the 46X4500 certainly puts them at the forefront of the HD revolution once again.

The visuals, audio and stunning looks of this new TV, have to be seen to be believed and although it may cost just under £2,000 we think it’s worth every penny.

Once you’ve seen the lifelike colours and exquisite details of this TV you’ll wonder how you ever coped with other standard TVs.

The engineers at LG continue to churn out exceptional TVs. This model is one of the older ones in the range but don’t be fooled by it’s low price tag. This model offers some exquisite features that more expensive LCD TVs can’t get close to.

Not only have LG developed a phenomenal reputation for quality visual and vibrant images, they’ve also built an excellent reputation for delivering exceptional audio that blows the competition out of the water.

This is especially surprising given that the LG set doesn’t even have any visible speakers. They teamed up with a world renowned audio expert who managed to develop a hidden audio system where the speakers aren’t visible but produce a rich, mellifluous sound.

The Revolution Continues at Sharp

How can it be that the brand that was almost dead and buried in the UK is having a new lease of life to rival that of Robbie Williams!!

Sharp were the forgotten brand of consumer entertainment, their star was waning – badly.

But now they continue to go from strength to strength and consumers can’t get enough of their High End LED TVs.

The Sharp LED family continues to grow with the addition of the LE600 and LE700. Two frankly awesome TVs which pack as much punch and weighty performance as some models which cost £200 – £300 more!

LED TVs have a much better colour scope than a normal LCD Television and are much more adept at displaying blacks and subtle, lifelike natural colours. This results in a picture which offers greater detail and vibrancy without looking artificial.

Just What Does 1080p Mean?

Whenever marketers want to make more money a surefire way to succeed seems to be to confuse people with idioms and techno-babble which bears very little relation to normal English. The HD arena has a cornucopia of seemingly meaningless acronyms and terms which can lead to bewilderment and confusion. For instance what does 1080p refer to?Simply put the term is made up of 2 components the ’1080′ and the ‘p’.

Lets start with the ‘p’ – the ‘p’ stands for progressive as in progressive scan. A progressive scan is a superior technology for making a TV image compared to the old fashioned interlaced way. ‘I’ stood for interlaced as in 1080i. Progressive scan screens create a smoother image that refreshes quicker and creates a more dynamic image on screen which keeps up with fast moving action. The colour contrast and detail is also superior on a ‘p’ version.

The 1080 refers to the resolution of the monitor. So a 1080p TV has 1,080 lines of pixels making up the image. The more pixels the more detailed the image, the better the image, the greater variety of colour and gradation.

All in all if you can strecth the wallet to stump up the amount of cash for a 1080p TV you definitely should. The Sony Bravia range of 1080p TVs is one of the best available, with a number of screen sizes available and price points to suit everyone.
